spring fling

had a chance to get gussied up on saturday and wore my new elva fields necklace.

WOR-SHIP elva.
wore it with this gray chiffon number from calypso sans belt.  obvs.
 {via LG's closet- thanks, liz!}

also dug these bad boys out of the closet.  sorta cheesy i know but they work well with the gray.

since i wasn't purchasing a "new " dress or shoes -  i splurged on hair & make up.
here's the look i went for . . .

so i didn't look exactly like this twenty-something supermodel but it was a solid attempt by the gals at andrew michaels and rouge cosmetics. {maje props for not laughing in my face when i told them i wanted to look like this beauty}

 btw, loving my new lip candy - paula dorf's flamingo

now gearing up for the main event.  a very special shelby gets married this weekend!  i pretty much die of excitement. . .
if i can stop jumping up and down long enough to post this week, i will.
oh and SJLD in full effect.  OBVS.

sooo, is it awk that it took me two years to meet JBW's youngest children but less than 2 weeks to meet her french bulldog puppy?  and that I have seen the puppy twice already. . . perhaps. . .
but whatevs.  i heart puppies! {bebes?  not so much. . . }

meet C. C. - the perfectly pied princess . . .

i. die.

looloo is not MIL with this fine young thing.  can't say i blame the bitch.  i'd feel threatened by this cuteness, too!

je t'aime C.C!

loverly lilac

i find myself coveting my neighbor these days because her gorge lilac bushes are blooming.  lucky for her they are out of arm's reach, and unlucky for me they are just out of sniffing range.

NOTHING brings me back to my childhood like the scent of lilacs.
we had a beautiful bush in our yard in my very special little town and the smell brings on nostalgia overload.

i'm not a huge fan of purple but if it's just the right shade of lilac, it's a go!
especially on princess cake.

obvs.

but us commoners might have to settle for these options to bring a lil lilac into our lives.

to leave you with a deep thought {via boomie}

“April is the cruelest month, breeding
lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
memory and desire, stirring
dull roots with spring rain.”

― T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land

guess i'm not the only one feeling nostalgic.

wedding wednesday: shower worship

so i'm currently a busy bee working on some big fun for the ash's shower in early june.
nothing inspires me more than this girl scout photo shoot by beau & arrow events.
the ash is no girl scout {obvs} but the gorgeous look & feel & absolute whimsey of the event is what i aspire to achieve.   seems that everything the fabulous ladies at beau & arrow design is in line with my dream aesthetic {ahem, as i find myself repinning almost ALL of their pins.}  these ladies rock!  {oh and apparently they have a soft spot for frenchies, too.  WOR-SHIP.}

okay, i simply cannot gush enough -see for yourself.

someone please call 911. i'm DY-ing over this dessert table!

by now, you all know nancy-pants.  well, nancy-pants has a friend
-let's call her A-game-
that i've never met but a big time girl crush is in the works.

here's one of the reasons why.

she recently helped style a charity event where boozing was highly encouraged {love.  obvs.}

yes, please.

then sent these boxes of mini donuts for the kiddos home as favors to help mommy and daddy out the morning after.

GENIUS.
ladies and gents, this is how's it done.  bravo, A-game!  cannot wait to see what you have up your designer sleeve next.

the only thing better would have been a babysitter, but those would have required much bigger boxes.

monday blues: let there be light!

it's after 9 am and i still need all the lights on in my house. a gloomy monday, fo sho.
i've been meaning to post about this wonderful website i found via pinterest - melissa hawks from the well appointed house has fab taste and i am in love with her lighting collection.

wouldn't mind receiving any of these table lamps for mum's day. {you may find a few references to my mother's day wishlist this week in hopes that CBC is paying attention}

tiffany blue bamboo tole lamp

tole pink croc lamp with black shade

misty blue crackle gourd vase lamp

the chanel lamp

the handmade artichoke lamp has been a long time fave. . . rando but i worship artichokes.

would HAVE to get the bahaman sea blue - swoon!

i would totes embrace a rainy monday if i could flip the switch on one of these beauties. ah, what the heck i'm going to embrace it anyway and put c & p in front of happy feet while i do more cyber "window" shopping for my wishlist.

like ummmmm, why don't we just add this gorge mod bar cart to the list right now, also from the well appointed house.

oh, how i could channel my inner mrs. draper with this in my possession.
i. die.
