the G party: before

so, unless you missed my open love letter to miss meredith nelson, you probably know i adore this woman for so many reasons.  and i'm confident that those of you who also know her, feel the same way.

meredith is the type of gal to come over last minute during a foul yuck october snowstorm to take fabulous pics of your rando G party deets, and at the height of her busy season, i might add!
and only meredith could make girl scout cookies, goldfish, and gummy candy look quite so glamourous . . .

tune in later this afternoon to find out what happens when you combine gummies, goldfish, grey goose, and a bunch of animals our friends.

PS my fave thing about meredith is that she was in my kitchen shoving frozen pizza in her mouth at 3 am with the best of 'em.  obvs.

frenchie friday: halloweeeeen

already??

i canNOT believe we are a week out from our infamous letter party.
i guess the time has come for us to discuss the totes inappropes G party of 2011.

perhaps monday. . .

until then you can recap the

and next weekend we face the R.
R u ready for it?

the B party

soooo. . . this was sort of a lost year for pics. apparently we were too busy getting 'B'lacked out to document the soiree.

not much to say about these. i meeeeaaaan, clearly before babies.
in no particular order:

bouncers {dogs. obvi}
bumble bees
bathrobe guy
ballers
bruins
beach comber
burgler
baywatch babes
beer girl
bowler {think kingpin.}
bond and bond girl
buddy the elf {well-played, willis}
beetlejuice, beetlejuice, BEETLEJUICE!
big p*ssy {this was the sopranos era}
bananas

from the limited photos, it appears that this party was a Bust! but it really was a blast. the peeps that made an appearance were hardcore {especially bathrobe guy}
this was the first year a costume-contest winner was crowned and our tradition of the winner choosing the next year's letter was born. . .
K-rock nailed it with the letter 'M' . . .

you're in for some magic next week.

so what would you "B"?

the time has come

. . . to fill you in on our halloween tradition.

this is our 6th year hosting a "letter" party, where every guest must come in costume as something that begins with the designated letter, we serve only food and drink that begins with said letter, decor also must be associated with the letter, and so on and so forth.

the first year the letter was "P".
looking back i realize those were much simpler times with only about 25 peeps {mostly NYC imports plus a few randos from the dog park}, some pigs in a blanket - both literally and figuratively- and alotta PBRs.
{i also realize i should have changed the heinous window treatments and lighting fixtures straight away but we had only moved to the 'burbs about 3 weeks prior}

looks like the following "P"s made an appearance:
pigs
pigs in a blanket
power ranger
peony {my adorbs ma in her homemade costume!}
pocahontas
punky brewster {lc nailed it!}
patrick swayze {circa roadhouse. obvi}
pilgrims
pink lady
pizza guy
richard petty {this is cheating, btw. has to be FIRST name that starts with letter}
pregnant nun {pregnant nuns love jell-o shots}
pitcher
pea
pilot
colin powell {another cheater}
partly cloudy and partly sunny {reigning champ}
proctologist
patriots
pirate
punk rocker
princess leia {getting frisky with a piggy}
and look at my puppy george as a prisoner . . . ahhh, the memories.

clearly, this was before i was a complete party planning lunatic. if i could do it all again, there would be a wholotta pink goin' on . . . and i would maybe be pinkalicious herself . . . or princess kate middleton . . . or a pickle. c & p would love-love any/all of the above. but it's past their bedtime anyway.

over the last seven years, the party has taken on a life of it's own. and over the next few weeks, you'll be privy to the transformation. . .
the plan is to show you a party from years past every wednesday. . . UNTIL we get to the 2011 G party.
DUN DUN DUN.

so what would you have been to the "P" party?
