cleaning house with cowgirl evie!

so as i mentioned last month, i'm busy working on the launch of my new blog.  it's taking a bit more time than anticipated but in the meantime, i figured i had some lil hoot biz-ness to wrap up.  the new blog will not be focused on kiddo parties, as this blog/biz began doing, so i'm trying to clean house and share some of lil hoot's work these past couple years before mr. hoot trades in his wings.

here are some never before shared images of cowgirl evie's 3rd birthday bash back in november.  this was another collaboration with some of my fave vendors/besties,.  evie's mom is also a friend who won our services at the queen of hearts auction to benefit the junior aid society. {this may sound familiar as she's a repeat philanthropist!}

Queen of Hearts Snow Ball

Julie O'neil- Chair
The Junior Aid Society is hosting the 2013 Queen of Hearts Snow Ball on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 7 to 11:30 pm at The Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead.  It is an evening of fast paced casino games, a great silent auction and dancing.  The attire for the event is Black Tie optional and all proceeds go directly to the Women's and Children's charities that Junior Aid supports.

here's the link:

now for the really fun part!

. . . what to wear. . . .

you may recall last year i found this ruffled lil rachel zoe number.

this year, i have this parker waiting in the wings if i can't come up with anything better. . .

let's talk more options this afternoon, shall we?
P.S. did you notice who the chair is?  our very own julie o.  so proud of her. {and hoping she doesn't wind up with another boot after all the doncing}

queen of hearts ball o' fun

you might remember from my previous post {confessions of a junior aid slacker} that i'm, well, a junior aid slacker.
it's 3 months later and i still haven't made it to a meeting- doh! {but i did finally pay my dues}
despite my pathetic lack of involvement on the meeting front, i am getting very excited to go to the queen of hearts ball.  it is such. big. fun.
there's a silent auction and casino tables, and doncing . . .and perhaps a cocktail or few . . .
all in the name of charity.  all proceeds go to help various wonderful women's and children's non-profit organizations of the north shore.  so you can really feel good about your hangover the day after!

so-local peeps- run don't walk to buy your tix here!

and just an fyi - lil hoot donating a custom party package again this year including my fave party venue- you & me studio - rental and custom cake by pickwick baking co.  AND the best part?  meredith nelson photography will be documenting the soiree.

loved planning grady's 3rd whale party last year after his mama generously bid on this item.  LB- round two? ;)

lots and lots of other fab auction items, as well.  {hey weed- don't even think of getting in my way of that basket of books}

sooo. . . let's talk about what's really important . . . what to wear what to wear. . .

do you love-love this ruby red number or not so much?
i worship rachel zoe so can't tell if i'm being biased.  enlighten me, please, thank you.

confessions of junior aid society slacker

a very belated request to all my local gals - please attend this year's teddy bear tea sponsored by the junior aid society. it's a fun event for you and the wee ones - added bonus - julie o will be modeling again this year . . . and champers is readily available. done and done.
i'm honored to be a part of junior aid. {even though i never make it to meetings and always pay my dues late!} even so, this organization does so much for local charities, with some great events, to boot! {pun intended- see adorbs invite}

buy your tickies here!

junior aid society introduced me to local charity, girls, inc. such an inspiring group and this year we decided we would encourage our "G" party guests to donate to them {starts with G, Get it?}
check out their mission statement-

At Girls Inc. of Lynn we inspire all girls
to be strong, smart and bold.

love-love it!

anyhoot, we raised over 1500 dollars! so happy. BIG thanks to our Generous Guests.
and thank you junior aid society for accomplishing such great things {and for being so tolerant of my tardiness/non-existance at meetings - i promise to make it up to you on the dance floor at the queen of hearts ball.}

which leads me to my next question . . .
queen of hearts gown - the crimson lace dress from BHLDN . . .

love-love or not so much? don't worry there will be plenty more options between now and february.
