merry merry mixers!

friend & stylist lindsey foley is on the committee of a phenomenal local charity, merry mixers, whose cause hits very close to home.

 i get choked up just thinking about the 22 days my C spent in the NICU.  i'm ashamed to admit, the hour long commute to see my little C didn't happen every day as I had the other peanut at home.   looking back, this just breaks my heart, as i can't imagine a day without "a charlotte hug" {unless i'm on ack drinking cocktails.  obvs}
point being, i knew she was in excellent hands but the opportunity for her to receive the care she needed at our local hospital would have been welcomed.

 this is the first pic ever taken with me holding both my babes together.  they were over two weeks old.  {we brought P in for a field trip}

this is getting heavy for a friday! {shouldn't i be posting pics of puppies and shiz?}
anyhoot, the time in the NICU was a blip on the radar and a small price to pay for my two healthy and happy girls.

 this pic was taken yesterday in grandpa's yard.  {round 245 of ring around the rosie.}

 i feel so indebted to the nurses and doctors that cared for my sweet C when I couldn't provide what she needed and I'm SO excited to support merry mixers!

"Sixty two years ago, a group of local women started the Merry Mixers, Friends of the North Shore Children’s Hospital, a non-profit organization designed with one sole purpose: to support and raise funds for this hospital that has cared for our children for the past 100 years. While the faces have changed over time, our goal remains steadfast. Funds raised by the Merry Mixers go directly to patient care services and the purchasing of critical medical equipment, enabling the Doctors and Nurses to provide first-class care to all patients.
The Merry Mixers has donated over $650,000 in just the last twenty years…something we are extremely proud of!  This year, the Mixers are embarking on their most exciting and challenging fundraising endeavor to date.  We are setting out to raise $200,000 in three years.  These funds will be utilized for the finishing touches after the expansion and renovation of the Special Care Nursery and for updates to the inpatient Pediatric Unit.
The project will include doubling the size of the Special Care Nursery to accommodate 12 high-risk infants, and their families.  The new floor plan includes space for mothers to sleep next to their babies, a family waiting room, a private bathroom and shower.  In addition, the nursery will include technological enhancements to ensure the highest level of care."

they are having a big event next weekend and i'm so happy to join in the fun this year!  they have amaze auction items and local band, better than nothing {how great is that name?}

please please come support the cause and buy your tix HERE for June 1st

lindsey also shared some outfit ideas - because isn't getting dolled up half the fun?

but i have another plan for a dress in miami.  not endorsed by LF.  she's actually mocking my ambition to wear an herve leger.  but i  i figure if i put it in 'writing' to all of you, i'll have to stick to my guns and keep working out {a lil background, the average lifespan of my "working out" regimen is about a week or two.}  i have a little over one month to get this bod ready to channel my inner cheese {can you say KK?}
i'm thinking this one.

rented.  obvs.

stop LOLing.  i'm totes being serious.
you know what they say. . .when in miami . . .

monday must-sees

awesome. weekend.
celebrated lindsey foley with friends on friday.
gramps' 90TH{!!} with family on saturday and my own precious foursome at life is good festival on sunday. going to get deep on this later- stay tuned . . .

for now a few must-sees!

#1
amazebalz blog shared with me by the fabulous K-Mac of Tallow Studio. I've mentioned Katharine before because her work is beyond inspiring. she's one talented gal with apparently quite the sense of humor, to boot.
a blog written from the perspective of suri cruise.
genius.

suri's burnbook

#2
gone "glamping" {glamorous camping} party on hostess with mostess last week. we all know how i love a good pun, made up words really make me smile.

hey, elissa from one stone events, you nailed it!

since i'm planning to get personal today, may as well start laying it all out there. the perfect end to a perfect weekend was coming home to a beautiful slideshow by the one and only meredith nelson photography. worship meredith {obvs.}
i cherish my family more than anything so these images are more than just pictures to hang on the wall.
they are my happiness. {corny but true.}

without further ado. . .the slideshow.

missoni madness

so unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the missoni line hits our beloved target stores tomorrow. i'm having massive anxiety about how i am going to a.) not go completely cray cray and b.) get my paws on the things i want, i want, i want. {not necessarily in that order}

trying to map out a plan of action.
c & p need to be at school at 8:30.
stores open at 8.
hmph.
do i go online at 8 then drop-off and head to an actual store? no joke at one point i attempted to secure a babysitter for 7 am and realized i was getting OOC already.

so let's just think about what needs to happen here. let's assume c & p learn to dress & feed themselves overnight, maybe even how to walk to school alone. . . then where do i even start? what do i want MOST? i'm thinking first priority is shoes. {obvi} the matching flats for me, c & p.

done.

then what?

here's a few of the items i have my eye on.

{you can check out the entire lookbook at fashionista.}

help! luckily lindsey foley will be in the hizzy . . . hoping she can keep her cool and reign it in for me. {judging by our calypso experience i'm pretty sure nancy-pants will not be a huge help with keeping things tight.}

must. draw. the line.

divorce would be imminent if i came home with this sweet ride. and i'm a pretty big fan of CBC so one of you other suckers can have the bike.

happy shopping! {and stay out of my way, please. thank you}

stay-cation

so i've been such a busy bee planning a sip & see for my precious niece.
the sip & see was last sunday  {yup, the rainiest day of the summer}

it was still such big fun to show off the lovely june and a special treat was seeing all the goodies bestowed upon her by our generous and stylish friends.
so much more on this later  . . .

we were graced once again with the presence of beautiful and talented miss meredith nelson and her mad camera skillz at the event.  i meeeeaaaan, how freaking lucky are we?
anyhoot, will be sharing the gorge images in due time and i promise you they will be worth the wait.

so, one of lil hoot's fave fans evah, ms. lindsey foley, the personal stylist, gifted the lil june-bug this awesome rikshaw designs outfit.  TDF.

the kurta with the matching bloomers.  swoooooon.

now i want. i want.

so many fab options over at rikshaw.  the anchor sundress is calling me. . . actually it's screaming at me!

. . . and the last thing c & p need is a summer wardrobe addition.
why am i fixated on these adorbs summer duds?  maybe it's just because i'm sad that summer is coming to an end . . .but mostly i'm pissed that i took my vacay in june.  seemed like a great idea at the time.  but i'd love to be back on nantucket for the month of august.
to deal with my miserable existence in marblehead {ha} i'm fully immersed in my first elin hilderbrand novel, the beach club.

why oh why haven't i picked up an elin book before?  i could have neglected my children for hours on end at such an earlier age.  seriously tho, if i can't be seeing my ashy at millie's, it's the next best thing.  anyone not going on vacay this month but wishing they were, buy this book.

here's some images of the island that elin's words conjure up. . . {because it's totes based on the cliffside beach club.  obvi.}

elin, take me away!

another great coping mechanism for my august stay-cation is the consumption of whispering angel rose.   a fab reminder of nantucket wine fest and bonus of hostessing the sip & see.  {avid reader ms. anne gifted me two bottles!} which oddly were never put out at the party. . .

shhhhhh. . . can you hear it?

keep calm and give thoughtful gifts

keep calm posters. . .
overdone?  yes.  still fabulous?  totes!

so i thought i was tres original 3 years ago when i hung the classic 'keep calm and carry on' poster in c & p's nursery.  not so much.  ever since we've seen it pop up on just about everything.

still makes me smile though and i was beyond happy to receive such a thoughtful gift from my fabulous friend and stylist, lindsey foley.

she had the amazebalz paige of paiges of style create these clever posters for lc {super mac's mama} and i.

love-love!
can you stand it?

thanks, lindsey {and paiger!}
xoxo!

oh and i have been "dabbling" in photoshop and made this one for sugar on top for her birthday last month (with a bit of advice from paige, of course).
it's supposed to resemble a cake pop.
it's totes not as cool as the riggins t but i was proud of my ps accomplishment nonetheless.
ummm, and how cute is she?
