easier said than done.

thursdays are the only days my chiquitas don't have "school".  so no long post today!  trying to take this quote to heart so we are off to the park.

happy thursday!

shades of purple

 i e-mailed the bob in a panic the other day because i found myself loving this necklace.  which is purple!  and if you know me, you'll know i strongly dislike purple.  the bob told me it was okay because it's lavender or some other BS.  anyhoot, i still want it and i'm still having an identity crisis.  maybe it's okay if i add a teeny bit of purple/lilac/lavender to the 'drobe?

but what kind of message will that send to c & p?  those impressionable little naughties will want even more purple than what i've allowed thus far.  C insisted on the eyelet gap dress below for her Easter dress.  despise.  i was so happy when she spilled her bubbles on it early in the day and had to change into something pink & lovely.

i think i just need to spend a tad extra on this stella mccartney adorbleness below.
C would worship!

LOVE.

frenchie fete

my fave lil hoot party was featured on amy atlas yesterday.  i had such big fun working on this frenchie fete for my four year old daughters who are somehow fixated on going to paris {obvs not happening}.
hangin' with george & looloo {our french bulldogs} and a 7ft. light up eiffel tower prom decoration will have to do for now!

jayme marie designs never ever disappoints and we just had too much fun with this one! look at the adorbs invite she created for the lucky birthday girls.

she also created all of the paper goods for the party, including the keepsake poster behind the dessert table.  and the pin the beret on the frenchie poster!  and the precious favor tags, and jar labels, and the dessert labels  . . . the mini french flags . . . i could go on and on {literally because i worship this woman and her positively charming designs!}

speaking of the dessert table, pickwick baking co. outdid herself . . . again.  every delectable french creation she slaved over on that table tasted every bit as good as it looked.  {i should post the pics of the post-party croquembouche.  i meaaan, not okay.  had many a miranda moment when i was eating the remaining morsels out of the trash. TMI?}

BEYOND delish.  ali is a french pastry genius.
 pickwick for prez!

btw, how miz pumped are george & loo in their striped shirts?

i am drooling reliving this dessert table.  the chocolate mousse. . . omg, sinful.
and the "pancake cakes" for C & P!  they each had their individual crepe cakes with their fave flavors.

 if i absolutely had to choose a fave, it would be the sweet charlottes.  they were divine!

but wait, the croissants?  i die.  they were perfection.  if you ever have a chance to buy some pickwick croissants, do it.  {or don't do it because it will ruin every croissant you ever taste again on this side of the atlantic.}

some other fun deets . . . my parisian themed books for the kiddos to read . . .

 pin the beret on the frenchie. . .

monkeying around the eiffel tower and demonstrating impressionistic techniques on their favor mugs. . .

{p.s. love that the guests dressed the part!  or wait, i maybe suggested that. . . either way impressive that they listened to miss bossypants hostess}

the mugs at each place setting on the bistro tables with the frenchie cookies . . .

the cookies created by batches.  so yummy and so adorbs!

the personalized favor jars with hot cocoa and mini-parisian landmarks spray-painted silver.

viva la france!

and viva la meredith michaud nelson of meredith nelson photography!
thank you for commemorating yet another birthday with your beautiful work.  can nevah evah thank you enough.  merci beaucoup just doesn't cut it!

so again, so much vendor love to jayme marie designs, pickwick baking co., and meredith nelson photography.  so inspired by you all. . .

and thank you to our little guests - we love you!

but the biggest thank you of all goes to my favorite "clients".  seeing the world through your eyes is a joy greater than i could have ever hoped for or imagined.

joyeux anniversaire, mes filles douces !

{yikes, i am super emo today!  big post tomorrow on why. . . stay tuned}

happy april fool's {birth}day

on the heels of easter this year i'm not sure i can muster up the energy for AFD or pranks.
 i feel like we treated most every day as april fools in high school and college and ummmm, my 20s {what can i say we had no iphones we were left to our own devices.  pun always intended}

i do love this quote, howevs.

and i do pretty much embrace my inner fool on a regular basis.  i highly recommend it.  {i personally do dumb shiz all the time so if i didn't embrace it i'd be bummed out a lot.}

another thing i love about april 1 is that my godson, mac, was born on this day 4 years ago.  maccy doesn't so much give me the time of day at this stage of the game, but i plan on bonding with him as he gets older, i also plan on him buying us all vacay homes when he's a profesh athlete.
happy birthday, super mac!  you make every day an adventure.  xo

good frenchie friday

cannot believe i forgot to post this yesterday.  i must have been busy not eating meat and repenting or definitely not either of those things something.  anyhoot, my most amazing meredith nelson took this pic a couple years back.  looloo wasn't supposed to be part of the shoot but then we slapped some ears on her and she started eating carrots so ummmm, how could meredith not start snapping away?

and i know you're all probably going to want to give props to C's very special haircut.  thank you for that.

hoppy easter, peeps!
xoxo

new nashville

there was a new nashville on last night.  no worries this is not a spoiler!
by now you should know about my riggins and FNL obsession.  WORSHIP.  and would honestly vote for tammi taylor for president.  obvs.  and now my precious tammi is the star of nashville. nashville brings me a happiness that nothing else can right now.  i want to BE rayna james.

like i seriously want to move to nashville and be married to gross teddy and in love with deacon.  one of these is already the case, so the rest should fall into place.

LOVE this man.

for those of you who haven't watched yet, pre-order your season 1 here.  and most definitely get yourself the soundtrack.

it's amaze.  forrealls.  i gave 11 of them out for Christmas.

since i don't live in nashville {yet!} i can't get away with too much western gear.  i do rock the frye carson boot in the fall and spring. . . which is now.  holla!

but when i'm jamming out to my n'ville soundtrack or country 92.5 i wish the easter bunny would kick it up a notch and bring me these.

or even these. {on sale!}

have a good day, y'all.  {ugh, soooo doesn't work coming from me.}

the gale

i've been traveling to south beach for over a decade. {holy. shiz. i'm old}
i used to hit up mango's and the clevelander and stay at the marriott and eat every meal at the big pink.  ha!  {i obvs still eat at the big pink at least once a trip} but my restaurant and nightlife choices have matured a bit {since i'm old}.  on my most recent trip last month with the ash we discovered the gale.

 ate din at dolce. it was delish and didn't leave us famished like the molecular gastronomy BS at the SLS.  {where we dined the previous night and had to stop at sbarro on the way home.  foul. but i admit the SLS is pretty ridic for people watching}

after din we headed to the regent cocktail club for about one million cocktails.

case & point.

then onto the rec room, modeled after a 70s basement. they only let about 2 hundo people in, unlike the other cray ginorm clubs in miami.  and they played the mostest funnest music evah {i think}.  holla!

okay so this place was totes my scene.  one stop shopping and old school good times, of course i had the best company, so that helped.  {until i had to carry her around like a little stuffed animal at the end of the night.  doh!}

highly recommend to all you peeps headed south this spring.  i know of a certain gorge bride-to-be and her bishes headed to sobe for some bachey debauchery.   have fun,  ladies! xoxo
