laundry room lust

it's a sad day when you find yourself swooning over laundry rooms.
in my defense, these are TDF.
i love-love that they go way beyond functionality and bring in gorge design aspects.

don't you worry about me though, it's not just laundry rooms i'm lusting after these days. . .
check out riggins' new 'do.

i'd like to fluff and fold taylor kitsch in this particular laundry room.

totes kidding.
{okay maybe not totally kidding . . .}

i want . . .

but cannot have.  obvi.  {especially on the heels of the recession.  wahwahhh.}

we have a wedding approaching in a few short weeks in woodstock, ny. {yay!} i feel this loveliness is just enough 'hippie' meets '2011 wedding chic.'  okay so not at all hippie but i still think it's perf.
i mean, i wouldn't have to buy a necklace so would save money on that?  you think CBC will go for it?

one of you is going to have to hire me soon to plan a party, dammit.  then i could spend all the profits on gorgeous frocks that i don't need.

you likey or not so much?

frenchie friday: it's been awhile . . .

i feel bad about neglecting frenchie friday . . . especially since i know ms. sugar on top, in particular, wor-ships my posts about dogs.  HA.

 i'll spare you the prose and leave you with this image as we swing into the weekend.  i'm totes going to try this with george & loo.  i'm sure they'd love it.

if you actually do like cute pics of pups, check out some more furry friends in swings.  so rando, i know, but fun-nay.  here's the article.

happy {frenchie} friday!

loralee lewis's swimcap sweeties

this may sound odd, but i don't look at other blogs very often.  i strive to be a teeny bit original and it's very tricky not to be influenced by all of the other fabulous ideas out there. . . but once in a while i stumble upon something so adorbs, i cannot look away or help but be inspired.

that's what happened when i came across loralee lewis's fabulous website, etsy shoppe, and blog today.  in particular, a vintage pool party, using her sweetie swim cap collection, and styled and captured by uber-talented photographer {and hostess, to boot!} kelly anderson.

if you can stand the cuteness, read loralee's full post here
read her whole life story while you're at it.
love-love!

 it's so obvious to me that kelly and loralee shared a vision of this event and worked together to create something amazebalz.

 i can recognize this precious relationship from first-hand experience because i've been beyond fortunate to have formed a special bond while creating events with both paige of paiges of style and jayme of jayme marie designs.  both these awesome gals have put up with hundreds {yes, hundreds!} of late-night e-mails filled with cray cray ideas from yours truly.  and they've indulged every one of them.

and none of this would do me an ounce of good if the brilliant miss meredith -of meredith nelson photography- wasn't there to capture the fruits of our labors, as only she could.

BIG HUGE shout out to all of these loverly ladies for whom i truly thank my lucky stars.

{okay, so now i am chuckling at myself because when i went to kelly's website to link back to her i saw this party was also featured on lil hoot fave amy atlas today.
and i thought i had "discovered" it.  hehe.  i should have known it was totes too adorbs for amy not to have seen it!}

 anyhoot, bravo, ladies!

owl take two, please . . .literally

whoooo buys their halloween costumes 12 weeks ahead of time?
apparently, i do.

it's been said i have a sixth sense about some things and today i instinctually checked the pbkids website for their halloween line even though their halloween catalog has not arrived yet.  i got a bit too excited when i saw i was right!  and then even more hopped up when i realized they have re-introduced their precious owl costume this year.
these bad boys sold out in record time last year and were going on ebay for over a hundo a pop.

ummmm, to say i wor-ship is definitely an understatement.  i wasn't going to let them slip away again. . .
P peered over my shoulder when i was ordering and caught a glimpse of the princess get-up.   "i want to be a princess!"  awwww. . . shot-down!

the owls should arrive within 5-7 business days.  hooty-hoo!

i've been a big fan of halloween for quite some time.  mom and pop helped me whip up some real doozies when i was a kid and anyone who went to college with me can attest to my love of the costume party.

i'm not ready to delve into the deets of our annual letter halloween party yet.  you'll be sick of that chatter soon enough.  think "G".

but here are the links to c & p's previous years' costumes.

their first year they were "chicks". {c party}

so reasonable, too.  my fave part is the striped tights.  A-dorbs.  available on diapers.com {for the price of about one owl wing.  doh!}

and then of course came the squiggly pigglys. {s party}

amazebalz.

{available at chasing fireflies.}

i totes love-love halloween!

another calypso classic. . .

love-love or not so much?

to bustle. . .

or not to bustle?

on sale now at calypso.
guess what color i just picked up?

hint, hint

stay-cation

so i've been such a busy bee planning a sip & see for my precious niece.
the sip & see was last sunday  {yup, the rainiest day of the summer}

it was still such big fun to show off the lovely june and a special treat was seeing all the goodies bestowed upon her by our generous and stylish friends.
so much more on this later  . . .

we were graced once again with the presence of beautiful and talented miss meredith nelson and her mad camera skillz at the event.  i meeeeaaaan, how freaking lucky are we?
anyhoot, will be sharing the gorge images in due time and i promise you they will be worth the wait.

so, one of lil hoot's fave fans evah, ms. lindsey foley, the personal stylist, gifted the lil june-bug this awesome rikshaw designs outfit.  TDF.

the kurta with the matching bloomers.  swoooooon.

now i want. i want.

so many fab options over at rikshaw.  the anchor sundress is calling me. . . actually it's screaming at me!

. . . and the last thing c & p need is a summer wardrobe addition.
why am i fixated on these adorbs summer duds?  maybe it's just because i'm sad that summer is coming to an end . . .but mostly i'm pissed that i took my vacay in june.  seemed like a great idea at the time.  but i'd love to be back on nantucket for the month of august.
to deal with my miserable existence in marblehead {ha} i'm fully immersed in my first elin hilderbrand novel, the beach club.

why oh why haven't i picked up an elin book before?  i could have neglected my children for hours on end at such an earlier age.  seriously tho, if i can't be seeing my ashy at millie's, it's the next best thing.  anyone not going on vacay this month but wishing they were, buy this book.

here's some images of the island that elin's words conjure up. . . {because it's totes based on the cliffside beach club.  obvi.}

elin, take me away!

another great coping mechanism for my august stay-cation is the consumption of whispering angel rose.   a fab reminder of nantucket wine fest and bonus of hostessing the sip & see.  {avid reader ms. anne gifted me two bottles!} which oddly were never put out at the party. . .

shhhhhh. . . can you hear it?
