best. umbrella. evah.

packing my bags for a girl's getaway this weekend and the weather simply isn't cooperating.  i was planning on bringing lots of fun spring-y tops, perhaps even some open-toed shoes .  i mean, it is the end of may, for riggins' sake.

anywho, here's a peek at some new inspiration for the trip.

yup, it's jeans {not of the white variety}, Ts and rain boots.
{and no, i don't own the burberry trench and yes, i really will be traveling with a costco-sized bottle of advil.}

ummmm, how phenom is this umbrella?!  need.  it. . . now.

calypso wrap dress: still love-love or over it?

i had an e-mail from calypso in my inbox this am announcing they're famous silk dupioni wrap dress was back by popular demand.

do we still love-love this dress or are we over it?

i personally think it's classic but i wouldn't run out and buy one today.  {first off, the "wrapping" part of this dress is above my pay grade}  but i do think it's stunning on others and i love the idea for bridesmaids.

rent the runway is actually offering them as bridesmaid rentals  at 65 bucks a pop.  don't even get my started on what an amazebalz idea i think this is {because c'mon now- do you ever really wear it again?}. . .pretty colors, too. . .

btw, for those of you who haven't "rented the runway" yet, join here!

so what do you think about the dress?  still love-love or over it?

monday pun-day-whoooooo needs a baby gift idea?

we all know i  love owl puns. . .
i also love this adorbs hug & hide owl activity toy from skiphop.

he was voted one of parents top toys in 2010.
it's super-cute and at 18 dollars, it's a steal!  and useful. . . i know i  struggled to find something to entertain my lil ones when they were 3 months. . .

i'm so lucky that i have a fabulous baby store here in marblehead where i can buy my baby gifts and you're so lucky because they have an online store!

check out my owl buddy and SO. MANY. MORE. goodies at hip baby gear.

oh, and hey rain, get it out of your system now. . . i have sorta awesome plans this weekend.

frenchie friday cake

extremely irritated with blogger for removing all posts since wednesday and being down for the last 24 hours. . . grrrrrr.

at least it's up and running in time to share this frenchi-licious cake on frenchie friday.

anyone planning a 35th birthday soiree for me?  get crackin' on this bad boy.
thank you sara's party perfect for sharing!

btw, did you happen to catch the latest cast member on one of my fave shows modern family?

via TV guide:

ABC’s Modern Family is ending its second season by adding a new series regular. The name of this pretty young new character: Bridgette. Who is she, you ask? “We’re getting a French bulldog for me to hang out with,” reports Rico Rodriguez (Manny). “She’ll probably be in the last three episodes of the season and then in multiple episodes next year. She’s a very good listener and has fit in very well.” We’ll have to see if Bridgette can deliver the same bark Ed O’Neill’s previous canine co-star, Buck, brought to Married… With Children.

as if i needed more reasons {than cam and lily} to watch!

happy weekend everyone!

LHH {lil hoot headquarters} update

today is an exciting day because my office rug is scheduled for delivery~
i'm interested in meeting this character.  it was a steal for 132 dollars and free shipping.

i first spotted this beauty over at laybabylay in beautiful vivi's nursery.
love-love the large scale chevron.

obvi, if i wasn't working on a budge things would be different.
in an ideal world, my home would be littered with madeline weinrib rugs
wor-ship.

of course in an ideal world my two year olds and dogs would never get anything dirty either. . .
perhaps we'll revisit when c & p leave for college.
for now it's rugsUSA or bust!
{if it's good enough for vivi, it's sure as heck good enough for LHH}

yoo-hoooooo, ups man, where arrrrrrrrre you?

love-love or not so much?

i first read about gorgeous elva fields necklaces from julie over on her fabulous design blog shelter.  been obsessed with these one of a kind pieces ever since.  actually gave one to my mom for Christmas last year.  i really want for me and we are approaching birthday/anniversary territory over here.  i check her site all the time for new ones and came across this one recently.  it's saying something to me but i can't tell what.
is it saying - "don't choose me, i'm sort of heinous" or "i'm awesome and no one has anything as cool as me."

. . . what do you think?
do you love-love it or not so much?
