love-love or not so much?

i first read about gorgeous elva fields necklaces from julie over on her fabulous design blog shelter.  been obsessed with these one of a kind pieces ever since.  actually gave one to my mom for Christmas last year.  i really want for me and we are approaching birthday/anniversary territory over here.  i check her site all the time for new ones and came across this one recently.  it's saying something to me but i can't tell what.
is it saying - "don't choose me, i'm sort of heinous" or "i'm awesome and no one has anything as cool as me."

. . . what do you think?
do you love-love it or not so much?

chelsea love. . .

today is an exciting day.  not only is chelsea handler's 4th book released . . .

 but i actually get to see my real-life celeb girl crush. {cue the annoying over-enthusiastic teeny-bopper squeal}

 i have worshiped chelsea handler ever since i was laid up on hospital bed rest while preggers with c & p.  she provided some much needed comic relief within those four sterile walls.  nightly routine: take-out with the hub, listen to babies' heartbeats every four hours, chelsea & ambien {note to self, chelsea & ambien would be a great name for a blog, yes?}
life was grand.

life is still grand but much different now {except for the ambien} but i rarely get to see the show so it's a special treat that i get to see the real deal tonight.
a little more aggressive than my average tuesday night but bring it on, chelsea. . .

one halloween - the year of the "C" party - two of my mostest favoritest peeps surprised me in chelsea & chuy costumes.

OMG.

look at the lil nugget dancing.  can you stand it?

wor-ship.

another reason why i love chels is because i admire anyone that is true to themselves and makes no apologies for it.  this is a bit too rare in every day life and i think it's why the chelseas and bethannys of the world are so well-received.  it's refreshing.
that and they are effing hilarious.
they remind me of my shelbys and my ashy, who i wish was coming tonight.
{but as it stands, i'll be in pretty good company}
vodka on me tonight, ladies and don't forget to wear your depends.

night owls: springtime

wow, i really got carried away with the mom's day gift guides, huh?  i hope everyone got just what their hearts desired.
i can't remember the last time i did a 'night owls' post!  sorta missed it. . . so here ya go!

how glorious is a gorgeous spring day?  especially here in the northeast. . . where everyone has been somewhat literally hibernating for months. . . we've truly earned the right to enjoy the sunshine, birds chirping {altho they start a tad early for my liking -cue the scene from funnyfarm} and finally being able to walk outside without 17 layers.

this little girl's room just embodies spring to me.  from the green "A" to the floral chandalier.  it is so light, airy and inviting.  i'd like to crash here after a busy spring day.

did anyone else have this book when they were little?  i am obsessed with gyo fujikawa's illustrations.  so adorbs!  i just bought it on amazon so i could relive my youth, ummmm, i mean for c & p.  i hope it's as good as i remember. . .

and how cute are these hatley jammies?  sugar on top spoiled c & p with these for their birthday gift last year and we can't wait to wear them this spring.

check out these inspiring prints from the wheatfield, an etsy shoppe with the gorge work of katie daisy. {katie, is that your real name?  worship.}

i hope it's another fab day.
{if not this post is crap.}
but really i just want everyone to be happy and usually these days are a good start.  most peeps leave their bad attitudes at home when the sun is shining.  {you better leave yours at home no matter what.}
happy tuesday!

better late than never. . .

happy monday, pun-day! {night}

happy seis de mayo!

{warning: crazy dog lady post}

you know it was a fun cinco de mayo when you wake up in your sombrero.

wishing everyone a quick recovery and happy {frenchie} friday!

feliz cinco de mayo!

fabulous lucinda posted about our wedding and family restaurant today over on glitter, glue, and fireflies.  she beat me to it and i love her for that.

she shared her kind words about zavala {my fam's original restaurant that is no longer} and milagro {their current restaurant located in amazebalz stonington boro, ct}.

 my incredible sister, genine, married martin over 15 years ago.  i can barely remember the time before we were introduced to him and his beautiful and vibrant mexican culture.  he happens to be an awesome chef and ridiculously hard worker {and kind and loving, underneath his macho exterior, to boot}

his restaurant is consistently named one of the best mexican in connecticut and number one restaurant in stonington. it is as adorable as it is delicious and i'm sad we don't live closer {altho convinced i would weigh 400 lbs. if i did}

  i don't tell martin or my sister enough how proud i am that he is a part of our family and that they have accomplished so much.
i'd like to raise a margarita glass to them!

and if anyone is lucky enough to be in the area - get there early.  they don't take reservations but it is well worth the wait.

milagro, 142 water street, stonington, ct

and an overdue word about zavala's passing.  we had some good times.  one of my bridal showers, my surprise 30th, my wedding farewell brunch, countless other over-indulgent occasions.
most pictures aren't fit to print but here are a couple that i dug up. . .

my fave drinking partner. . .

now it's on to the next generation.

now, if only i could book the island for c &/or  p's wedding. . . {as if daddy doesn't have enough reason to raid that tequila selection!}
